Kate Elliott – Director
Kate Elliott started Elliott Safety in 2016. She manages all proposals, quality control and client liaison. Kate holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. She also holds a Diploma of OHS and a Diploma of Project Management. She has over 20 years’ experience in a range of safety, project management and marketing roles across a variety of industry sectors with a specific focus on safety, environment and quality within the construction and manufacturing industries.
Kate’s hands on experience spans many industries including commercial construction, retail, civil, oil and gas, education, health, aged care, manufacturing and plant facilities.
Kate’s ability to implement systems to meet the specific needs of each client coupled with her excellent communication and facilitation skills are key to her ability to implement successful client solutions.
Kate is a qualified auditor. She can utilize the client’s existing audit tools or develop new audit criteria specific to the project and the client’s existing management system.
Her dedication to providing a quality service with a quick turnaround for written reports assists clients meet their legislative obligations for safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Monique Faulkner – Senior Safety Advisor
Monique Faulkner has over 10 years’ experience in a range of health and safety, emergency response, workers compensation and injury management roles across a variety of industry sectors. Her focus to date is on safety, environment and quality management within the construction industry.
Monique holds a Diploma of OHS and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science. She Monique has worked in the construction industry for 10 years in safety related roles. Monique brings many years of experience from construction, oil and gas, mining and retail sectors. Monique regularly works with large tier one construction clients, developers and subcontractors.
Monique’s focus is to implement systems that meet the specific needs of each client. She uses her excellent communication skills and facilitation skills to achieve successful client solutions.
Monique is a qualified lead auditor and ensures high standards are applied to improving procedures with the understanding, passion and commitment to the standards governing Safety ISO 45001, Quality ISO 9001, and Environment ISO 14001. Compliance with OHS and WHS legal obligations, industry standards and promoting a safe work environment is her primary focus.
Monique is trained in incident investigation techniques and is able to lead investigations into critical incidents utilising “best practice” investigation methodology to discover root cause and ensure corrective actions are developed and promptly implemented.
Monique is an experienced auditor of construction projects. She can develop auditing tools specific to the client and project needs. She understands the importance of ensuring compliance to both internal company procedures and relevant legislation.
Monique can design, deliver and review training packages, including site based HammerTech training, to clients providing advice, consultation and support ensuring best practice safety & health standards are implemented across the board.

Glenn Burns – Senior Safety Advisor
Glenn Burns has worked in the commercial construction industry for more than 25 years. He started out as a construction labourer on the Crown Casino development in Melbourne working his way up to become the Group HSEQ Manager for one of Melbourne’s leading tier one builders. A position he held for 9 years.
Glenn has worked in safety roles on many of Melbourne’s icon projects. He spent three years as a Safety Advisor on the Melbourne Soccer Stadium in Richmond for Grocon. There were many engineering challenges on this project including the design of the complex roof structure and the close proximity to the freeway entry. Glenn was integral in implementing many new and innovative safety processes. Glenn fulfilled the role of OHS Coordinator for the Melbourne Cricket Ground Redevelopment, again for Grocon.
Glenn holds a Diploma of Applied Science – Occupational Health and Safety which was completed in 2001. He is also a ticketed Dogman, Height Safety Inspector and has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Glenn also holds qualifications as a Lead Auditor for Safety, Quality and Environment.
Glenn’s experience and skills in the industry make him an excellent all-rounder. His experience in both leading audits and being on the receiving end of Federal Safety Audits and ISO and Australian Standard audits gives him a good appreciation for the flow on challenges for site teams and subcontractors.
Glenn is also experienced in logistics, manufacturing, and warehousing safety management.

Geoff Thomas – Senior Safety Advisor
Geoff Thomas has over 30 years’ experience in executive and senior management level safety and human resource management roles. Geoff’s vast experience covers a range of sectors including Commercial and Civil construction, Engineering, Mining and Transport.
Geoff holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management from Swinburne University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from RMIT University. He is also a qualified Lead Auditor through SAI Global.
Geoff’s experience shows proven success in occupational health and safety leadership, employee/industrial relations, certified agreement negotiations, training and development, workers compensation, remuneration benefits, recruitment, organisational development and change management.
As Safety Health, Environment & Quality Manager for CPB Contractors, Geoff was instrumental in achieving substantial OHSE success on projects including numerous rail/road grade separation projects for the Victorian government, Tullamarine Widening Project, 567 Collins Street. He also managed the HSE&Q process for the merger of Thiess and Leighton and then later to CPB Contractors.
In his role as Director Construction and Utilities Program Victoria for WorkSafe Victoria, Geoff was responsible for driving the development and implementation of OHS campaigns that contributed to a 25% reduction in standard claims and a 20% reduction in the number of claims reaching 13 weeks off work.
He has strong leadership qualities and the ability to supervise, train/develop and motivate personnel at all levels of the business. He also has strong effective presentation and public speaking skills.

Wayne Nicolaci – Safety Advisor
Wayne is an A grade Electrician and has over 20 years’ of trade experience. After many years on the tools, he developed a passion for safety and was a HSR on various large construction projects in both the Construction and Oil and Gas sectors before a stint of 5 years as an official with the ETU.
Wayne’s experience in his past roles allows him to understand the industry from multiple angles. He brings a new focus on electrical safety that has not been seen in recent years. Wayne is currently providing electrical compliance auditing services to many tier one and 2 construction companies as well as HSE services to multiple clients.
Wayne enjoys the opportunity to contribute to maintaining and providing a safe workplace for all workers with compliance to WHS legal obligations, industry standards a primary focus. But to walk away knowing that he has achieved positive outcomes and positive influence on a client’s safety culture is what really drives him.
Wayne holds a Certificate IV in OHS and is currently studying to complete a diploma in OHS, along with many other practical training courses including Working at Heights and Silica awareness.

Wayne is an excellent communicator and listener. Having worked on the tools and as a HSR, then as an Official, this has given him an appreciation of what “real life” issues present on building sites that are sometimes misunderstood by Safety professionals without extensive trade backgrounds.

Eliza Murphy – HSEQ Systems & Wellbeing Manager
Eliza is a qualified safety auditor and has over 8 years’ experience in safety system management for large construction companies such as Cockram Construction, Icon Construction and Kane Construction. She has also worked in rail for the Level Crossing Removal Project.
Eliza holds a Cert IV WHS and a Diploma of WHS. Prior to her studies in safety, she also completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Human Resource Management and a Diploma of Nursing. Eliza started her career in Construction as a HR Coordinator before receiving the opportunity to work across both the HR and HSEQ department. Finding a passion for safety, she moved into a fulltime HSEQ position.
Eliza has extensive experience in HSE auditing, the development and implementation of safety management systems and administration of safety software systems, such as HammerTech. She also has experience in crisis management, incident investigation and workers compensation.
Eliza believes that communication and consultation are two of the most important aspects in the management of safety, whether that be at a corporate or site-based level. Eliza has excellent communication skills and always strives to provide a positive safety attitude when dealing with site teams.

Maurice Walker – Safety Advisor – Client Side Representative, Data Centre Builds
Maurice comes from a trade background as a carpenter with over 20 years’ experience mainly in London, UK. Progressing through the ranks into a supervisory Site Manager role, working on projects in the London Underground, British rail and Government buildings. He continued his career in Site Management when moving to Australia in the late 90’s. working for various construction companies in Western Australia and Victoria.
Maurice appreciates the importance of promoting good WHS culture on site to ensure a safe working environment for all. Maurice made the decision to follow his passion for safety management in construction and decided on a huge career change. He hasn’t looked back. As a Safety Advisor for Elliott Safety, he now carries out HSE audits and inspections for several clients to ensure compliance of current OHS and WHS obligations.
Maurice enjoys being able to make a difference regarding safety culture to ensure a safe working environment for all.
Maurice’s extensive Site Management and trade experience has enabled him to become an effective communicator at all levels which allows him to easily promote a positive healthy safety culture for our clients.

Mark Longley – Safety Team Leader – Data Centres
Mark currently the Safety Team Leader for client side, safety management for 4 data centre construction projects in Melbourne. Mark overseas 3 safety professionals who all represent the client as well as overseeing the safety compliance of the data centre project builds.
Mark is a highly experienced safety professional with many year’s experience in commercial and civil construction and Mining. Mark has a bricklaying trade background. He has held roles with Melbourne based construction companies working on commercial construction sites. He has excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and is proficient in all areas of construction safety.
Mark considers himself to be a collaborative safety advisor and team player who likes to listen and consider prior to making a decision. Mark has excellent communication and people management skills and is an asset to the Elliott Safety team.

Jessica Cant – HSEQ Systems & Wellbeing Advisor
Jessica brings over 15 years of experience working in various construction safety roles for companies such as Baulderstone, Melbourne Airport and most recently the Melbourne Level Crossing Removal Project. Jess’s site based experience, coupled with extensive system development and management experience, makes her a valuable part of the Elliott Safety Team.

Rob Evans – Safety Advisor Data Centres
Rob is a passionate safety professional always willing to challenge the status quo and improve on existing standards. With 9 years of safety and quality experience over a 28-year career within the construction and aviation industry working in both the United Kingdom and Australia, Rob has built on his knowledge through work experiences and training and has been able to successfully transition the skills he has learned in the compliance heavy Aeronautical industry across to the construction industry.
Rob is currently completing a Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety and holds a Certificate IV in OHS. He is also trained in internal auditing along with many other training courses including project management, Certificate 3 in Business and many aeronautical engineering courses.
Rob’s philosophy is to always treat people with respect and try to understand why they do things the way they do so that he can offer improvements to enhance the safety of the task.
Rob is an excellent communicator which transitions across workers on the ground through to senior management.
Rob is proficient in many safety management software systems and has a good understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and the Office of Federal Safety Commission.
